More inspiration for... I Heart You - That's Crafty! + #giveaway

Hi! Thank you for taking a moment to read my post...

I posted about my DT project for the That's Crafty! February challenge - I Heart You (use hearts) a couple of weeks ago and I have some more inspiration for you. If you haven't entered the challenge already then read on and give it a go, because there is a voucher promised for a winner and it could just be you!

I'm sticking to album and notebook making this month and this time I used a couple of the large white board hearts to make the covers. I intend to trace the hearts onto some paper, possibly watercolour cardstock, cut them out and fill the book. I haven't fully decided yet on what paper I want in it. These hearts don't come with a hole, but it is easy to punch or poke one. You can make these hearts anything you want them to be. Maybe a wall decor with just one or add the other different sized hearts that come within the pack. I made this...

I went with some non-traditional colours for the hearts. Aside from the fact that I love the gorgeous yellow paint that That's Crafty! produced, I thought why not! I bet you are sick of the Valentine's reds and pinks by now so I thought I'd give you something a little bit different. I had to throw some gold in too! I diluted the paint with a drop of water, added with a palette knife and then spritzed with the Pale Gold Sparklers Spray to dilute it even more on the heart and let it drip and do its magic. So fun! And I loooove the stencil! So gorgeous!

Here are a few close ups of the project for you. And, please, can we just take a moment here and ooh and aaah over that amazing shine that this gold paint gives! I tried mixing it with water as well as other paint and omg... amaziiiing! *hint*hint

So there we have it! Two projects to throw some inspiration your way. So defo give it a go! You can enter the challenge HERE.

  4. I love the idea of having a heart shaped note book or a book filled with watercolour paper ready to decorate and use as an instant topper for a card. Your cover is fabulous with all that stencilled texture.
