Why not?!

Hey!

Thank you for stopping by!

Another rainy week and a weekend have passed, two kids birthday parties and dozens of other chores later, it was finally 'me' time for a moment. I think it was Saturday. I went up to my lovely attic craft room feeling the usual itch to create something... anything! I was so excited to have a moment to myself and be able to sneak up there whilst Daddy was with the kiddos...

I got up there, looked around and all I could see was the mess I left there from the last couple of projects, boxes that started arriving with Christmas presents that, of course, must remain a secret until the big day and other random crap! Suddenly, going from feeling all creative, I felt the urge to throw a bomb at it and run! So with a huff, I started pottering about, tidying everything so that I would 'creative' again, but by the time I tidied up, it was lunch time and I had to get into the 'Mummy' mode again and cook some lunch. I went back downstairs feeling utterly disappointed that I didn't get to do what I wanted and proceeded with more not-so-fun tasks like cooking and washing up. Is it just me or do you ever feel like you can't create, because everything is everywhere and you have to tidy up and start from scratch? I can't help it...

Anyway, I can also be quite stubborn and as I ate my lunch, I thought to myself... I don't care what it is, I WILL take 15 mins, just for myself, and I will make something. Anything. Anything at all, that will make me smile and give me the doze of creativity I so much crave. And I did...

I sat down at my desk and poked around my little glass bowl where I keep leftover unused die cuts from recent projects. I found a few snowflakes. A piece of lovely yellow-coloured card made with Distress inks was also at my reach. So I started playing and 15 mins later, I had a non-traditional, but fun Christmas card. And why not! :)

The snowflake embellishment was made by adhering three of them on top of another and then heat embossed three times with the gorgeous Silver Pearl Wow! Embossing Powder. I finished it off with a few crystals and a twine for contrast.

I dedicate this post to all fellow procraftinators out there and wish you love and peace during this festive time. I hope to steal another few minutes from my busy life and be back to share some more fun stuff.

Until then... stay creative! :)

Hugs,

Ingrid xxx
